Jordan Love has the perfect idea for Micah Parsons' Packers debut, one that could give Green Bay fans absolute goosebumps

When the Green Bay Packers enter the field on Sunday to play the Detroit Lions, it will be a special afternoon at Lambeau Field. It's the first time since 2018 that the Packers play a regular season opener at home, and right when edge defender Micah Parsons makes his debut in green and gold.

Quarterback Jordan Love is also excited about it, and he has the perfect plan for how it could unfold. Asked on Wednesday if the pre-game introduction should go to the defense this time around, Love went beyond that to show how much difference Parsons can make for this team.

"They gotta do defense. They gotta do defense, Micah last, you know what I mean?" Love said. "The crowd's gonna go crazy. I already see it, I already see it. Defense goes out there first, get a three-and-out, Micah gets a sack on third down. I already see it."

That would be a bad idea for the Packers whatsoever. Even though it's the first game of the season, Green Bay wants to break through once again in the NFC North. The team hasn't won the division since 2021 and had a 1-5 record in divisional games last season.

The Packers made a huge investment to acquire Micah Parsons , giving the Dallas Cowboys two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. But Jordan Love believes that the addition could elevate the defense to another level.

"It gives us a big jolt. I think everybody was excited, because we know what type of player he is," Love added. "We know exactly who he is and what he's capable of out there on the field. You look at our defense, what we have already, with RG [Rashan Gary], putting Micah on the other side of that. Some exciting things could happen."

It's still to be determined how many snaps Micah Parsons will play. He was acquired less than a week ago and was limited at practice due to a back injury that, alongside contract issues, made him miss most of training camp for the Cowboys. Moreover, the Packers will have a short week after the opener, since they play the Washington Commanders on Thursday in Week 2.

But the concerns certainly don't overshoot how excited Packers fans have to be ahead of the debut of a legitimate NFL star.
