There are more good pieces of news on the Jordan Love front for the Green Bay Packers. On Thursday, the quarterback participated in the team's activities for the second consecutive day — and this time around, it was in pads.
Even though it's not certain that Love will play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, the QB being able to practice and moving apparently well are positive indications that he will beat the initial recovery timeline of three to six weeks. So far, Jordan Love has missed only the game against the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday, and the Packers won with Malik Willis at quarterback.
“Every day is a good day for him to get out there, be out there with his teammates,” head coach Matt LaFleur said of Love doing an activity with pads. “Same as every week, we'll give him until kickoff, or 90 minutes [before it].”
LaFleur didn’t confirm if Jordan Love will practice on Friday, but if he does, it will probably be at a limited capacity again. For the head coach, it’s valuable to give Love team reps ahead of a game.
“Everything you do matters,” LaFleur explained. “In a perfect situation, your quarterback gets as many reps as possible.“
Jordan Love being at practice was good, but not the only positive piece of news for the Packers on Thursday.
Wide receiver Jayden Reed and left guard Elgton Jenkins were back at practice after missing Wednesday's work. Reed is handling a calf injury, while Jenkins has an illness and a glute issue. Both were limited.
Meanwhile, cornerback Carrington Valentine (ankle) and first-round rookie guard Jordan Morgan (shoulder) did not practice once again. Tight end Tucker Kraft (shoulder) was limited, with a red non-contact jersey.
The other limited participants on Thursday were defensive tackle Kenny Clark (toe), running back Josh Jacobs (back), center Josh Myers (ankle), right tackle Zach Tom (quadricep), and left tackle Rasheed Walker (shoulder).
The Packers will still practice on Friday, when they also release the injury designations ahead of the week 3 matchup.
