It's not new how much Aaron Rodgers influenced Jordan Love as soon as the young quarterback entered the NFL in 2020. After a tough personal experience in the transition from Brett Favre back in the 2000s, Rodgers made sure to be more friendly to his own successor, and Love is grateful about how their relationship was constructed.
Asked by Kevin Clark who was the most badass person he has been around in the NFL, the current Green Bay Packers quarterback didn't need much time to think about it.
"Aaron Rodgers, man. Aaron Rodgers. Man, that speaks for itself," Love said. "I think the play style, the way he plays the game, the intensity that he brings to everything. Practices, walkthroughs, in the meeting rooms. He's just a badass man right there. And he obviously goes out there on the field and does what he needs to do out there and has made a pretty good career for himself."
For BADASSES, Jordan Love said Aaron Rodgers was the biggest badass he ever played with. He detailed how Rodgers taught him the game within the game--watching the opposing sideline, faking calls and much more.

This was sorta amazing.

Love spent three years as Rodgers' backup in Green Bay before taking over as a starter in 2023. Evaluating what Love was when he got drafted back in 2020 and what he quickly became on the field, you can see how Rodgers and the Packers infrastructure impacted his game.
"There's so much," Love added when asked about what he learned from Rodgers. "I think just all the subtle things A-Rod does at the line of scrimmage, pre-snap, seeing what the defense is in. All the different ways he tries to mess with the defense and play games and use his cadence to try and get free plays. And obviously, the way he watches the sideline to see guys sub on and off and be able to get some free plays out of that."
Love himself is becoming more savvy to exploit defensive mistakes and generate free plays.
"Cadence is a big part that I've learned a lot from him," Love detailed. "How to use the cadence to manipulate the defense and get some of those free plays. And just the little things you do, whether it's giving a fake Mike call, or fake calls at the line to make guys think a play is really coming."
This season will bring a special opportunity for both Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love . Now that the veteran signed a free agent deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, it's confirmed that the Packers legend will face his old team on Sunday Night Football in Week 8, in Pittsburgh.
Rodgers spent two seasons on the New York Jets after being traded by Green Bay, but didn't have the chance to face the Packers. And it will be a fun chance for players and fans to compare what these quarterbacks are at this point—and the perfect opportunity to see what Love was able to absorb from Rodgers' playing style.
