The Buffalo Bills received encouraging news on quarterback Josh Allen after their wild-card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Allen took several hard hits during the game and was evaluated multiple times. Despite the concern, early reports suggest he will be ready to play next week.
On Good Morning Football, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said Allen is banged up but expected to suit up. The Bills’ victory removed any immediate pressure to rush decisions. Winning allowed Buffalo to focus on recovery, and that timing worked in Allen’s favor.
Rapoport then talked about Allen's injuries and said he continues to manage a lingering foot issue tied to a bone problem.
"Let's get into Josh Allen, 'cause there are a number of injuries, two new, one old," Rapoport said. "We'll start with the old. The foot injury that he's been battling, which is a bone issue, old bone issue on the outside of his midfoot, seems to have come out okay. That one is getting better. That is really pain tolerance, which means it hurts, but he's okay."

Allen also jammed a finger on a helmet during the game. That injury does not appear serious and is not expected to limit him.
"Then he banged his finger on a helmet," Rapoport said. "Does not seem like that one is going to be debilitating. Was able to play, keep shaking it, really more just kind of jammed it than anything else. That'd be one more to monitor."
The most notable concern came from a knee twist after he was rolled up on near the goal line. Allen briefly limped and entered the medical tent but returned quickly.
"And then there was the knee, and Josh Allen said after the game, he got rolled up on," Rapoport said. "Kind of didn't, kind of got twisted pretty good, came back to the sideline limping into the blue tent, and then right to the bench, right to the tablet.
"Seems like he is gonna be okay, but as he has done the last couple weeks, wouldn't be surprised if he's limited in practice while he deals with all these."
Statistically, Allen delivered another strong playoff performance. He completed 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown. He added 33 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground. Two touchdowns came in the fourth quarter, including the game winner with just over a minute left.
After the game, Allen mentioned that the knee check was precautionary, saying,
“It was more of a precautionary thing. Just got rolled up on. And they wanted to take a quick look. But we’re all good.”
Allen insisted he felt fine and downplayed the situation.
Buffalo will learn its next opponent later this week. All signs point to Allen leading the Bills once again.
