Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld, have announced the birth of their first child.

“Our baby girl has arrived!! We’re feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments,” Steinfeld wrote in the announcement on Thursday. “Thank you so much for the love and well wishes. Love, Hailee and Josh.”

They did not reveal the baby’s name or any other details, but Allen discussed his excitement about being a dad back in January.

“I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, becoming a dad,” Allen said. “It’s something that I will take with great pride, and we’re going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else. But this is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, is being a dad. And I know, I love being a football player and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one.”

Allen and Steinfeld got married last May and announced that they were expecting a child in December.

The 29-year-old quarterback can now add a new title of proud father to his list of accomplishments.

He led the Bills to a 12-5 finish last season while passing for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdown.
