Josh Allen's 2024 free agency contract projection

The NFL's regular season is over, which for most teams, means it's time to start figuring out plans for the offseason.

NFL free agency is a huge part of the process, and along with the NFL Draft, it has everyone preparing for what should be a very active couple of months.

We've officially come up with our own contract projections for the NFL's top free agents that include context behind each player's 2023 season, the likelihood of a franchise tag, the projection itself, and the first-year cap hit for a team that's “all-in” and is needing to reduce that first-year hit in order to maximize their cap dollars.

So, without further ado, let's check out the projection for Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher, Josh Allen.

Josh Allen 2024 Contract Projection

Perhaps the most under-the-radar superstar talent in the NFL, Allen will certainly cash in soon. With a monster platform season in 2023, ranking third in sacks (16.5), fourth in pressures (88), t-5th in quarterback hits, and 7th in hurries, Allen has cemented himself as a top-10 edge rusher in the NFL.

Allen's past three seasons compare very favorably to the three preceding Myles Garrett’s before he signed his five-year, $125 million contract. Over that span, Allen has 114 tackles to Garrett’s 104, 29 sacks to Garrett’s 30.5, seven forced fumbles to Garrett’s six, and 200 pressures to Garrett’s 153.

When you factor in the sustained success with the plateau platform year, Allen would absolutely net an APY north of $27 million. But, the Jaguars will be smart to defer that for a season by franchise tagging their superstar.
