Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have stormed to a perfect 3-0 start behind a balanced attack on both sides of the ball. Through three weeks, the Bills have scored 102 total points, including 12 touchdowns, and are averaging just 34.0 points per game, while allowing only 71 points in that span. The early-season surge has placed them among the league’s most efficient offensive teams and kept them atop the AFC East.
Now the Bills turn their attention to Week 4, where they will host a struggling New Orleans Saints team still searching for its first victory of the year. The matchup provides Buffalo with another chance to make a statement and extend its unbeaten run.
While Buffalo is poised to have another dominant offensive outing, its defensive unit has also received some boost ahead of Sunday’s contest. On Saturday, the Bills announced that they have elevated defensive tackle Jordan Phillips from the practice squad to the active roster.
The move strengthens depth along the defensive front, particularly as Buffalo looks to contain the Saints’ ground attack.

Phillips entered the league in 2015 as a second-round pick (52nd overall) by the Miami Dolphins. Over his NFL career, he has contributed as a rotational interior lineman for the Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and is now playing in his third seperate stint in Buffalo. The 33-year-old has appeared in 129 games, recording 170 tackles, 24 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions. Last season with Buffalo, he played in seven games, finishing with five tackles and one interception.
At 6’6” and 341 pounds, Phillips brings size and experience to a Bills defense that has given up 23.6 points this season and is still searching for consistency. His elevation is especially important with defensive tackle Ed Oliver (ankle) and linebacker Matt Milano (pec) both ruled out for Sunday’s matchup. Their absence leaves a hole in Buffalo’s front seven, making Phillips’ presence even more valuable as the team looks to keep the Saints winless.
The game is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET and will air on CBS.
