The Los Angeles Chargers are off to a quick 2-0 start in 2025. The Chargers, after a win in Brazil over the Chiefs and a road win in Las Vegas, are ready to start the home portion of their slate.

That comes on Sunday in Week 3 as the Chargers take on the Denver Broncos. It will be the third AFC West opponent in a row for Los Angeles to start the season.

While Los Angeles has been strong on the defensive side of the ball, allowing 15 points per game, the quarterback play has been exceptional for Jim Harbaugh's squad.

That role belongs to Justin Herbert. The 27-year-old has been nearly flawless, tossing for 560 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. Herbert has also run the football 16 times for 63 yards through two games.

His play has not been overlooked. Chargers' safety Derwin James joined "Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday to talk about the signal caller. He had this praise for Herbert:

"Justin Herbert is one of the best QBs in the league and we wouldn't want anybody else. We love ten and as long as he's at QB we've always got a chance."

Herbert is just 27 years old, out of the University of Oregon. He was a first-round pick by the Chargers in the 2020 draft. Coming into this season, in his five seasons, Herbert had played in 78 games and thrown 135 touchdowns to just 45 interceptions.

In 2024, Herbert was especially careful with the football, throwing 23 touchdowns to just three interceptions.

While James is praising the Chargers quarterback, he has done his share of the work for the 2-0 team as well. The former Florida State star was the 17th overall pick in the 2018 draft. Since coming into the league, James has reached the Pro Bowl four times and was part of the All-Rookie team in 2018.

The 6-foot-2, 29-year-old has 14 tackles so far through the first two games. Eight of them are solo tackles.

After Denver leaves town on Sunday, the Chargers will head to the Big Apple for Week 4 and take on Russell Wilson and the New York Giants.
