Justin Herbert got roasted after laying egg against Patriots

Fans showed Justin Herbert little mercy Sunday as the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback faltered under the playoff spotlight.

The Chargers’ offense looked completely neutered in their Wild Card matchup against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The road team managed 207 total yards, leading to a measly three points against a stifling Patriots defense. The Chargers were also 1/10 on third down in the 16-3 loss.

Herbert took center stage in the anemic offensive display. The Chargers QB went 19/31 for 159 yards. He did rush for 57 yards, but most of them came during a disastrous drive that ended in Herbert losing possession after getting mauled by several pass rushers.

Several fans roasted Herbert for once again coming up empty in the postseason.

Herbert has long been regarded as one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. But his playoff resume (or lack thereof) has kept him from being in the same conversation as names like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

Herbert entered the game with two regrettable postseason performances. Herbert led the Chargers to a 27-0 lead over the Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2022 Wild Card round. But Herbert and company infamously choked, losing 31-30 in an all-time collapse. He arguably looked even worse last season when he went 14/32 with four interceptions in another Wild Card exit against the Houston Texans.

The third time was not the charm for Herbert.
