Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert reinjured his ankle in the loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chargers lost their first game of the 2024 season against the Steelers 20-10. It was an injury-riddled game for Los Angeles, including star pass rusher Joey Bosa and both offensive tackles Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, along with Herbert. The star quarterback’s injury may take a while to heal, as he was seen in a walking boot after the game.

The veteran quarterback was injured in the second half after Steelers defender Cameron Heyward fell on top of Herbert’s hurt ankle. Herbert was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain leading up to this matchup he suffered last week’s win against the Carolina Panthers.

Los Angeles Chargers Quarterback Situation

Herebrt finished the game with 125 passing yards and a touchdown to receiver Quentin Johnston. Backup Taylor Heinicke finished the game for the Chargers after the star quarterback was officially ruled out of the game. Herbert has dealt with many injuries throughout his career, especially last season where he missed the last four games with a broken hand.

Los Angeles will host the Kansas City Chiefs next week in a high profile divisional matchup, and according to Herbert, he is hopeful that he will be able to be ready to play in the game.

Do you think Hebert will be ready to play next week, or will the team have to roll with the backups against the back-to-back Super Bowl champs?
