Andy Reid gave a playful answer when asked whether he plans to attend Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding.
The Kansas City Chiefs head coach did not try to make himself part of the spectacle. Instead, he handled the question with the same dry humor fans have come to expect from him.
Reid sounded happy for Kelce and Swift, but his biggest personal concern was much more practical: making sure his tuxedo still fits.
On an episode of 96.5 The Fan, Andy Reid was asked whether he had received an invitation to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding.
“I probably have [received an invite]. If I don’t outgrow my tuxedo before then, I’m going,” Reid said.
That was classic Reid. He did not turn the answer into a major reveal or make the moment overly serious.
Instead, he leaned into the joke, especially after a conversation that had already included plenty of Kansas City barbecue talk.
The response also showed how comfortable Reid is with the attention around Kelce. He understands how big the story is, but he rarely lets the outside noise become bigger than the people involved.
Reid then made it clear that the attention around the wedding should not overshadow what matters most between Kelce and Swift.
“When [it] really comes down to it, it doesn’t matter how big the show is around them. They’re in love and that’s the most important thing,” Reid added.
That line cut through the celebrity side of the story. Kelce and Swift will always draw cameras, headlines, and huge public interest, but Reid framed the relationship in much simpler terms.
He also joked that he is not “the show” and would simply show up if invited, which fits his role perfectly. For the Chiefs, Kelce’s relationship with Swift has been part of the background noise for multiple seasons.
But Reid has consistently handled it without drama. His latest answer was supportive, light, and grounded in the idea that the couple’s happiness matters more than the spectacle around them.
