The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a thrilling “Monday Night Football” showdown, which they lost 31-28 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With that loss, Kansas City now sits at 2-3 overall — and their journey won’t get any easier in Week 6 when they’re set for another primetime matchup, this time on “Sunday Night Football” against the Detroit Lions.

This marks the team’s third primetime appearance in their last four games, and if one thing remains clear after the NFL’s latest announcement on Thursday, it’s that the Chiefs — led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes — continue to be the league’s biggest draw.

NFL Media revealed viewership numbers through five weeks of the season, showing that the league is averaging 18.58 million viewers per game, up 8% from 2024 and 9% from 2023. The top 10 most-watched games so far feature the Chiefs four times, the most of any team.

The Dallas Cowboys had the second-most games in the top 10 with three, tied with the Baltimore Ravens, who were also featured three times. The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers each appeared twice.

However, the most-watched game of the season — drawing 33.8 million viewers — was the Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles back in Week 2, which the Eagles ultimately won.

Outside of the Eagles-Chiefs matchup taking the No. 1 spot, Kansas City also landed at No. 5 on the list for their game against the New York Giants, which drew 25.3 million viewers, No. 8 for their matchup with the Baltimore Ravens that brought in 23.9 million, and their most recent contest against the Jaguars came in at No. 10 with 22.3 million viewers.

While the Chiefs may not be off to the fastest start this season, sitting below .500, the numbers through five weeks prove one thing: Kansas City remains the NFL’s biggest attraction — win or lose.
