After the 2025 season, Patrick Mahomes decided that he needed to make a change.
So, he switched up a part of his iconic style.
Following the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Mahomes decided to get a haircut. And when speaking with reporters on Wednesday, he revealed why he finally pulled the trigger on the new do.
“I’ve wanted to do it for a while but it was kind of one of those superstitions, I kept winning the Super Bowl which is a good thing but I didn’t want to cut the hair while I was doing it," Mahomes explained. "I told everybody during the season that win or lose, if we win three in a row or if we lose, I’m getting a haircut like that’s enough.
And he even blamed the media members for allowing him to have it so long.
"I’m very excited," he continued. "I’ve looked at some videos from last year and I can’t believe all you guys let me keep that nappy hair for so long, like I look way better now with the short hair, so I’ll be keeping this going forward.”
After the loss to the Eagles, Mahomes needed a switch and hopefully this will allow the Chiefs to get back to their winning ways and bring home yet another Lombardi trophy during the 2025 season. A new haircut could be the major difference now.
