Keenan Allen, at 33 years old, continues to traverse his NFL career with a smile on his face. In the back-end of a 'Monday Night Football' doubleheader, Allen's Los Angeles Chargers took on the Las Vegas Raiders, on the road, inside Allegiant Stadium.
Allen would score his second touchdown of the season on a a 10-yard pass from his quarterback, Justin Herbert, giving the Chargers a 10-3 lead in late in the first quarter. The Chargers would never relinquish the lead, leaving Las Vegas with a road-divisional win over the Raiders 20-9.
Allen finished with five receptions on seven targets for 61 yards and one TD. And following the game, Allen took part in an on-field interview with Scott Van Pelt on "SportsCenter" on ESPN. Van Pelt asked Allen how he feels to be back with the Chargers, but more importantly how long he plans to continue playing football.
"We're gonna ride it 'til the wheels fall off," Allen said.

After spending the first 12 years of his career with the Chargers, Allen was traded to the Chicago Bears for a fourth-round pick in March of 2024. While the trade was initiated by the team due to Allen reportedly refusing to take a pay cut, any outstanding issues appeared to be resolved when Allen signed a one-year, $8.52 million contract to return to the Chargers prior to the 2025 NFL season.
Now in season No. 13 in the NFL, Allen seems to be as happy as ever to still be playing football at a high level, back with the Chargers.
"It's great being back home, being back in these threads in these colors. I can't ask for nothing better," Allen said.
And while Allen said he wants to play "until the wheels fall off", it appears Allen's No. 1 priority is football, as he says he has nothing more important to do with his time.
"I've got nothing else to do, so why not come back home and play football with the Chargers?" Allen asked rhetorically.
Allen will look to score a TD in three consecutive games to start the season when the Chargers take on the Denver Broncos at home in Week 3.
