King of Props: Russ reverts to running

In his 10 years as the quarterback of the Seahawks, Russell Wilson never played Monday road games twice in the same season. But just six weeks into his Broncos career, he’s already making his third appearance in prime time and competing as a visitor on Monday Night Football for the second time. Looking to beat the division-rival Chargers and avoid dropping to 0-3 under the lights, Wilson should do enough to deliver our top prop:

The bet: Over 13½ rushing yards for Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (DraftKings)

During the first two games of the season, Wilson seemed intent on showing his new employer that he could be a true pocket passer. He deliberately ran just once in each, with his only other official rushing attempt being a kneel-down at the end of a Week 2 win over the Texans.

However, gaining yardage with his legs is an integral part of Wilson’s skillset, and he has gotten back to his scrambling ways. He has now exceeded this number in three straight games, logging at least four carries in each and finishing with totals of 17, 29, and 22 yards.

Just two years ago, Wilson was averaging 32 rushing yards per game – and that’s exactly what the Chargers allowed to Browns QB Jacoby Brissett last week. If he gets to half of that amount tonight, we could even withstand a couple of victory-formation kneel-downs.
