The San Francisco 49ers still have their eyes on a potential reunion with wide receiver Kendrick Bourne. The team reportedly has an offer on the table for the veteran, who chose not to sign ahead of Week 1 to weigh his options.

That need may have become more pressing after Sunday's 17-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings (shoulder) and tight end George Kittle (hamstring) both exited the game and did not return. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that both players will undergo MRIs on Monday to determine the severity of their injuries.

When asked about Bourne's status, Shanahan made it clear the 49ers remain in the mix.

"I know he hasn't signed with [a team], so I know it's a possibility we can get him," Shanahan said. "I know we're still trying. Hopefully, that can work out."

The 49ers could also get some help internally. Rookie wideout Jordan Watkins, who was sidelined with a high-ankle sprain, recently returned to practice but was inactive in Week 1. The coach remains hopeful that the first-year player could make his NFL debut soon.

"It's getting closer with him, so we'll see," Shanahan said.

Bourne, 30, began his NFL career with the 49ers, playing four seasons in San Francisco before signing with the New England Patriots in 2021. Over the course of his career, he has totaled 292 receptions for 3,714 yards and 22 touchdowns, and he's now preparing for his ninth NFL season.
