Kyler Murray suffers frightening injury in Week 1

Kyler Murray suffered a frightening injury during the first quarter of his Minnesota Vikings debut on Sunday.

Murray was hit hard by two Green Bay Packers players at the end of a scramble late in the first quarter of Sunday’s game at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn. He appeared to take a hit to the head from Packers safety Javon Bullard, and looked to be knocked unconscious for a brief moment.

Murray went straight to the locker room and was evaluated for a concussion. Carson Wentz replaced him at quarterback.

The former No. 1 overall pick barely even got to see the field in his debut, as he went 3/5 for 18 yards with an interception before suffering the injury. The Vikings had high hopes that he could correct the offensive issues that plagued them last season, and made him a major priority in free agency after the Arizona Cardinals released him.

Murray has no documented history of concussions. He has missed extended time in the past due to an ACL injury and, last year, a foot problem.
