Lamar Jackson, Ravens Suffer Double Loss on Sunday

Star quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens got off to a fantastic start in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season, as they took on the Indianapolis Colts on the road. Early in the fourth quarter on Sunday, the Ravens had a 38-16 lead against the Colts.

Jackson and the offense had a field day in Indianapolis, as he threw for over 300 yards and one touchdown, while also scoring on the ground. His touchdown through the air went to wide receiver Zay Flowers, which was part of Flowers’ career day.

In the first half, Flowers had five receptions for 150 yards, which was a career high, and the one score.

Despite his phenomenal day in the receiving game, Flowers was apparently injured on his fifth and final grab of the day. During the second quarter, as he caught a pass and tried to turn around, he tweaked his hamstring.

Later in the game, after being initially being listed as questionable to return, he was ruled out by the Ravens.

This came after Jackson already lost another wide receiver target earlier in the game. Rookie wideout Ja’Kobi Lane suffered a wrist injury, and he was ruled out by Baltimore as well.

Lane was drafted in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Ravens after playing for the USC Trojans for three years in college.

There were no further updates on how serious either of these injuries were during the game. With four minutes remaining in Sunday’s season opener, the Ravens led 41-23 over the Colts.
