The Las Vegas Raiders had some injuries in their loss to the Indianapolis Colts, injuries that don't happen as often as others. For example, an injury to their punter, A.J. Cole, a position that doesn't get injured as often as, let's say, an offensive lineman or running back – guys who get hit often.
Cole, who was maybe the best punter in the NFL last season, would have had his work cut out for him on Sunday against the Colts, as the Raiders only scored six total points. The one time he attempted a punt, it was blocked, and his ankle was hit by a Colts defender. Now, he has a sprained ankle.
So, just in case Cole can't go on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, the Raiders signed punter Brad Robbins to the practice squad.

Cole is going to try to play, there's no doubt about that. It's just about how good he will be when he's not 100%, and how much pain he will be in.
"Our guys are battling here to get back," Carroll said Tuesday on the 1 on 1 show with JT The Brick. "I know A.J. wants to kick; he hasn't missed a game in however long, and he says he's going to do it. So, we will wait and see. Unfortunately for the fans that want to know, we want to know too, but we don't have any information just yet."
Robbins played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2023, didn't play a game in 2024, and has played one game this year, where he had an amazing game for the Buffalo Bills, edging out a win over the Baltimore Ravens.
In that game, Robbins had four punts for 158 yards and no touchbacks, which means he knows how to put the ball in play when he's supposed to. So, he could be a good option for a Raiders team that seems like they'll be punting a lot this year. However, they really want Cole back, who's the best of the best.
