The Indianapolis Colts found themselves in the headlines last week with the news that Anthony Richardson is expected to miss the rest of the spring due to shoulder soreness in his throwing arm.
Head coach Shane Steichen's unwillingness to commit to Richardson being back for the beginning of training camp in six weeks from now created some major worry across the fan base. Because the reality is, if Richardson had to miss the start of training camp, the upcoming QB battle would have swung heavily into Daniel Jones' favor. However, fans will probably love to hear the updates that multiple NFL insiders have provided since.

A couple of high-profile AFC North QBs aren't out there for OTAs — is there any cause for concern over offseason ailments to CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson?#NFL #HTownMade #ForTheShoe pic.twitter.com/2u079lVBlN
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero joined the Rich Eisen Show recently to discuss multiple hot topics surrounding the NFL. One of which, of course, is the current status of Richardson's shoulder injury. And his update is exactly what fans want to hear.
"Shane Steichen saying he will be back sometime in training camp really isn't really what I want to hear if I'm someone rooting for Anthony Richardson to beat out Daniel Jones for that job. Now I was separately told yesterday that he will 1000% be ready for training camp. But that necessarily doesn't mean the Colts will cut him loose."

On top of Pelissero sharing this update, there have been other NFL insiders who have shared what they are hearing about Richardson's shoulder. All of which point to him being ready by training camp, which would allow the Colts to have a legit competition between Richardson and Jones for the right to be the team's starting QB come Week 1 of 2025.
My understanding of Colts QB Anthony Richardson's injury is that he's dealing with inflammation in the surgically repaired AC joint and the recommendation is rest. The belief is this will not impact his availability for the start of training camp.
