The New Orleans Saints fandom will rejoice following some recent news surrounding a holiday on the gridiron. For Christmas, fans of the black and gold will get to see the return of a franchise legend to the broadcasting booth, according to a recent report.
According to Andrew Marchand, former Saints QB Drew Brees is getting another chance as a game day analyst for some NFL action. Brees will be an analysis for Netflix on Christmas Day. The specific matchup that he will be a part of is not known yet.
Drew Brees, who was one-and-done at NBC but has expressed a desire to return to a top NFL booth, will be a game analyst for Netflix on Christmas Day, sources briefed on the negotiations told The Athletic.

Brees' previous time in the booth did not go quite as planned. In his short time with NBC, Brees struggled at times, and the reaction from fans across the league was not usually positive. He was only with that coverage group for one season, and his opportunities were limited.
Last year, long-time sportscaster and iconic voice Joe Buck defended Brees and another former players when it comes to their broadcasting careers.
"I think Jason Witten got a bad shake. I think Drew Brees got a raw deal. And if there's anybody who was ever created in a computer to be a top analyst at a network, I think it's Drew Brees, and I would love to see him get another chance at that.
He got one game, and he was working with a new crew and a new play-by-play guy, and everybody expected brilliance. You make one comment, and it gets its own life on social media. It's just ridiculous." -- Joe Buck via the Sports Media with Richard Deitsch's podcast
The former NFL star had some moments as an analyst for ESPN during last season, and he seemed a bit more comfortable in the studio. There is a chance that this latest opportunity could help Brees land more consistent roles if the reaction is what Netflix is hoping for during Christmas. We've seen other former players, like Greg Olsen and Tom Brady, improve in the booth with more reps and time to prepare themselves.
It remains to be seen if Brees has made notable improvements to his game in the booth. He was known for making adjustments on the field and outplaying projections from outside noise. Now, the Saints legend will attempt to do that while discussing the sport, too.
