Let's pick some holiday weekend winners

That was an easy-as-can-be cash for our Thursday night. We likely went almost too conservative on the read! A win's a win, so let's keep rolling in the NFL market.

We've got three straight days of football coming up after a day off today. Two games Saturday, 10 on Sunday and three on Monday. Let's touch 'em with some quick-hitting picks. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

Gift-wrapped picks for the full NFL weekend

Saturday: Stefon Diggs over 67.5 receiving yards (-114 FanDuel)

The Chargers are a defense we should keep picking on while we can. Los Angeles is allowing the fifth-most yards per pass attempt, the fourth-most explosive passing plays, and the third-most passing yards per game.

Naturally, we turn to Buffalo's top wide receiver, Stefon Diggs. Diggs has been quiet recently, but sportsbooks have his receptions line set at 6.5, suggesting they are expecting an involved game for Buffalo's star pass-catcher.

When Diggs catches 6+ passes, he's over this line in 28 of his last 31 games, averaging 97.4 yards per game.

Sunday: Dolphins moneyline (-105 BetMGM)

The Dallas Cowboys are just a different team on the road, and that's where they'll be Sunday when they take on the Miami Dolphins.

The Bills established the game plan to attack Dallas: Utilize the run game. Miami is most certainly built to take advantage with Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane rushing the football. The Cowboys are 7-0 at home and 3-4 on the road, we're going to ride that trend as long as it delivers and jump on the Dolphins to win a massive game.

Monday: Boston Scott TD (+440 ESPN)

Surely you've seen Boston Scott TD making its rounds through social media this week, and yes, we're jumping on as well.

If you're unfamiliar, Scott is the Eagles' third-string RB, so you may be wondering what the hype is about. You see, Scott is addicted to scoring touchdowns against the Giants. In eight games against New York, he has a touchdown every game, tallying 10 total. This is worth a sprinkle to cap Week 16.

In the news ...

Rams take down Saints on 'TNF' to help secure postseason spot — The score will look close, but it didn't feel particularly so as we watched the Rams roll over the Saints on Thursday, winning 30-22. Los Angeles is 8-7 and starting to become comfortably entrenched as an NFC wild-card team. Meanwhile, the loss drops New Orleans to 7-8, but it's still very much in the mix if for nothing else but being in the dreadful NFC South. The Rams are -250 to make the playoffs and the Saints are +235.

Dodgers land Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto — So much for Yamamoto wanting his own big show. He's joined fellow Japanese star Shohei Ohtani with the Dodgers in what has quickly become the most stacked lineup in the league. Are we allowed to be a tad disappointed? We're a bit disappointed. Could be fun to fade Los Angeles next fall, but it sure seems hard to ignore that this team is absolutely loaded with talent. The Dodgers are +400 to win it all.

College bowl season picks up this weekend — We're not quite at the peak of college bowl season, but this weekend offers us our first glimpse at some big-name schools squaring off. We've got you covered with some betting looks for this Saturday, like Air Force +2.5 vs. JMU and Utah -6.5 against Northwestern. Next week, the matchups really start to get more exciting, with games like Tulane-Virginia Tech, Louisville-USC and Oregon State-Notre Dame.
