The Lions are re-signing Levi Onwuzurike to a one-year, $5.5 million deal according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Onwuzurike was a possible Bengals target in free agency. He would've helped round out a room that includes B.J. Hill and TJ Slaton.
Onwuzurike, 27, has spent four seasons in Detroit. The Lions took him in the second round (41st overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft. He had 28 tackles, 13 quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks last season.
Instead of taking a long-term deal, he opted for a short-team contract that allows him to get back to the free agent market next offseason.
