Lions' offensive line nightmare just got worse after concerning injury update

The Detroit Lions lost big names all over their roster and coaching staff during the 2025 offseason. In order to beef up an offensive line that lost right guard Kevin Zeitler in free agency and former All-Pro center Frank Ragnow after his retirement, Dan Campbell has moved veteran Graham Glasgow over to the center position.

While most of the reports from Lions practice seem to suggest that things are going quite swimmingly for Glasgow in his new role, all of that positive momentum was very quickly blunted by an injury that is sure to get some nervous sections of the fanbase riled up.

Glasgow left practice late with what is being deemed a lower leg injury. At a time when most teams are trying to take things easy so that they head into the regular season as healthy as possible, Glasgow's lower leg threatens to possibly deprive this team's new offensive line of their most experienced member.

Lions C Graham Glasgow suffers lower leg injury

Glasgow was perhaps the worst member of the mighty Lions offensive line last year, as he earned a terrible 42.8 pass block grade from Pro Football Focus during the last few weeks of the season. Perhaps moving to center and letting Christian Mahogany take over the left guard snaps could help him improve.

If Glasgow is going to miss time, the lack of depth behind him is looking scary. 2024 UDFA Kingsley Eguakun is listed as one of the top backups, though Dan Campbell may also consider kicking rookie guard Miles Frazier inside if he is unable to bring in a veteran replacement.

This Lions offense is fresh off losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, along with top assistants like Tanner Engstrand, Antwaan Randle El, and Steve Heiden. The last thing new OC John Morton needs is an injury at the center position, which will make it even more difficult for him to implement his preferred offensive vision.

Glasgow could be fine, and this could be a momentary bump in the road. However, if Glasgow is to miss any extended time, it will be almost impossible for this offense to replicate the high-octane laser show from 2024.
