The Detroit Lions clinched a playoff spot on Thursday with their thrilling, shorthanded 34-31 win over the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field, causing longtime Lions fans and broadcasters to react with candor.
One prominent voice of the Lions in Motown is Dan Miller, the host of Fox 2 Sports Works and the radio voice of the Lions.
Miller has seen plenty of down seasons during his time behind the microphone on both television and radio, but the chickens are coming home to roost on another winning season for Detroit amid one of the best seasons in franchise history.
The hard work that Dan Campbell and his coaches and players have put in have culminated in a 12-1 start to the 2024-2025 season that has made Detroit Super Bowl favorites even over the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in many circles.
On Thursday, Miller shared a heartfelt message to fans after the Lions' playoff clinching victory.
"Aight guys. I'm going to bed. Love all of you. You make this ride so special. I don't know where this is going but I know we have an organization to be proud of @Lions."
"Coaches are top notch. Players are all guts and class. That win was incredible. Thank you Zeke Turner," Campbell concluded, saying thanks to the Lions' fill-in defensive stalwart Ezekiel Turner, who was signed from the practice squad last month amid a rash of injuries to defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn's players.
