A day before the Miami Dolphins take on the San Francisco 49ers, the team made roster moves to help prepare for the Week 2 matchup. From the team’s official site, linebacker Ronnie Harrison Jr. has been placed on IR (injured reserve). A nagging hamstring injury has been plaguing him since Week 1.
Linebacker Liam Anderson has been signed to the active roster from the practice squad to take Harrison’s roster spot. In addition, the team has moved both Clelin Ferrell and Max Llewellyn to the roster for Week 2 to shore up the Edge position. This is due to edge Chop Robinson being ruled out for the game due to a concussion. The team sorely needs to improve its pass rush that was lacking in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Miami is now 0-1 after losing to the Raiders in Week 1, and the team stayed on the West Coast to prepare for the 49ers. With more preparation and being able to stay together in what has been described as a collegiate environment, the Dolphins are looking to build off the positives they displayed in Week 1.
Despite the loss to the Raiders, the team did show promise. The growing pains of the young team were felt as rookie guard Kadyn Proctor, linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, and cornerback Chris Johnson were among the players most talked about.
Now, it will be up to the Dolphins to continue mixing their chemistry in a significant way to build a winning team.
That will be a tough task on Sunday, as the 49ers are predicted to be one of the toughest teams in the NFL. They showed that plenty by handily beating the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 in Australia, 27-7.
Robinson may be back for Week 3, but he must pass multiple concussion protocols to be able to take the field again.
