Miami Dolphins Offense Delivers a Dud In Week 1

The Miami Dolphins looked as poorly as one team could look this afternoon on the road against the Indianapolis Colts. Miami’s offense looked especially bad in the 33-8 loss. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa finished the game 14-of-23 for 114 passing yards and two interceptions. He also added a fumble in the blowout loss.

Miami’s offense got off to a miserable start in the first half, and the second half did not go much better. They only had 43 total yards in the first half. Where do the Miami Dolphins go from here?

The Miami Dolphins Need To Get On Track

Miami entered the regular season with low expectations. They did not do much to assuage those concerns against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. The Miami Dolphins have a talent-laden offense with pieces including Tagovailoa, Running Back De’Von Achane, and Wide Receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. None of these marquee players played up to their potential this afternoon.

Tagovailoa’s performance was the opposite of how Indy’s quarterback looked. New Quarterback Daniel Jones had no trouble moving he ball up and down the field against the Miami Dolphins defense. He finished with 272 passing yards and 3 total touchdowns. Jones looked like a different man than the one who helmed the New York Giants in recent years.

Final Thoughts

Miami heads home to lick its wounds before welcoming the New England Patriots to town. The Patriots are currently trailing late in the fourth quarter against the Las Vegas Raiders. Both of these teams will look to rebound from disappointing Week 1 showings.
