Micah Parsons’ departure left Dallas Cowboys fans at a loss for words. Some had to check their feed several times in case the news turned out to be a massive prank, while others lashed out at owner Jerry Jones for trading their star defensive player.
Parsons’ presence made the Cowboys a competitive defensive squad. The 26-year-old’s numbers speak for themselves. He is only the second edge rusher to record 12+ sacks in each of his first four seasons in Dallas.
Losing a player of Parsons’ caliber hit the Cowboys fans like a freight train. Money was never an issue for Parsons. He was ready to accept the offer from Jones in April, but the veteran owner’s belligerent attitude toward the agent deteriorated his relationship with Micah.
Instead of working toward a resolution, both parties found that a trade was the best option for both parties. The Cowboys traded Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, less than a week before their week one clash against the defending world champions.
Micah Parsons’ trade news dropped like a nuke on a young fan. SportsCenter posted a video of a young boy breaking down in tears after finding out that Parsons had left the Cowboys for the Packers. Parsons came across the video and dropped a comment saying, “I’m sorry!”

The Cowboys received Pro Bowler Kenny Clark in exchange, but it’s clear that the fans of the star lost one of their own. Despite growing up in Pennsylvania, he was among the few who supported the Cowboys and dreamed of wearing the Star on his helmet forever.
Growing up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, I was one of the few kids in my neighborhood who cheered for the Dallas Cowboys. Nearly everyone around supported the Eagles, but I always believed in the star. To wear the blue and white at Penn State and then carry those same colors into the NFL as a Cowboy, it was more than a dream; it was destiny.

That dream ended on a sour note. Now he has a different goal, one that he’s kept to himself all these years.
Parsons’ jerseys used to sell like hotcakes every year after hitting various stores across the nation. The numbers also looked solid during the offseason. However, the trade has caused complications.
Stores are facing issues selling Parsons’ Cowboys jersey despite dropping the price to as low as $30 from its original valuation of $250. It makes sense considering fans would rather buy his Packers jersey.

An Eagles fan page posted a video that summed up the entire conundrum surrounding Parsons’ jersey. The viral clip showed a father receiving a Micah Parsons Cowboys jersey as a birthday gift right after the trade was announced.
Father was already in a grumpy mood because of Jones’ shenanigans. To his credit, he only slammed the jersey on his sofa instead of burning it.

It has been an offseason filled with the departures of fan favorite players. ESPN’s Sam Block tweeted,
Micah Parsons isn’t on the Cowboys. Nick Chubb isn’t on the Browns. Cooper Kupp isn’t on the Rams. Deebo Samuel isn’t on the 49ers. DK Metcalf isn’t on the Seahawks. Joey Bosa isn’t on the Chargers. Najee Harris isn’t on the Steelers.

It’s tough to buy a jersey these days.
It’s very challenging for fans to part ways with merchandise belonging to their favorite players. The NFL is a business, and it’s hard to predict an athlete’s future. One moment, they are part of one team, and the very next, they are having lunch with another in a different state.
