Michael Bennett: Nick Foles is better than Carson Wentz

Is Nick Foles better than Carson Wentz? It's a debate that can still be heard in bars all across Philadelphia, as Eagles fans still wonder if the quarterback who won them a Super Bowl is better than their current gunslinger. Now, one former Eagle has weighed in, with Michael Bennett saying that he believes that Foles is the superior quarterback.

Bennett was a guest on "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast , where the Foles vs. Wentz question was brought up by Long, who also played for the Eagles. Long noted that while Wentz is a good guy, "You don't know if he has that intestinal fortitude to be that first one to step over the line." Bennett then went a step further, declaring that "Nick Foles is better."

Foles won a Super Bowl for the Eagles in 2018 before joining the Jaguars. However, he eventually lost the job in Jacksonville to Gardner Minshew, so the team traded him to the Chicago Bears in March. Now, he will be competing with Mitch Trubisky.

Meanwhile, Wentz has secured the starting job in Philadelphia, as he signed a massive four-year, $128 million contract with the team last offseason. But while the Eagles have made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, injuries have kept him from delivering on his full potential.

Bennett played a season in Philadelphia when Foles and Wentz were still with the team. Wentz struggled a bit with consistency, leading the team to a 5-6 record before the team shut his season down due to a back injury. Foles was able to lead the team to the playoffs, where they won against the Bears before falling to the Saints in the divisional round.
