Injuries have come for the Minnesota Vikings, and it happened again in Dublin, Ireland, to the offensive line.
Vikings right tackle Brian O'Neill suffered an injury when blocking for a field goal in the first half of the 24-21 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that it's a sprained MCL, and O'Neill will be week-to-week.
The MRI has confirmed that #Vikings RT Brian O’Neill sprained his MCL on Sunday, taking him off the field. He’s week-to-week, but no surgery is required. Coach Kevin O’Connell had indicated this was the case.

This is a tough one for the Vikings. They have been relying on bookend tackles for the last few years and already had Christian Darrisaw miss the first two games. Now, O'Neill could miss multiple weeks.
Being that it's a sprained MCL, we don't know how severe it is. A first-degree sprain means he's likely to miss one to four weeks, while a second-degree sprain (more severe) is more like a three to six week recovery timeline. A third-degree sprain is a complete tear.
Being that O'Neill is week-to-week, it's most likely that he ended up with a grade one or two sprain. It stinks for the Vikings, who are already without left guard Donovan Jackson after his wrist surgery. In his place, until Jackson returns, will be Justin Skule, who started for two games while Darrisaw was still recovering.
If Jackson comes back before O'Neill does, we could see Blake Brandel kick out to right tackle, a spot he has started before when O'Neill tore his Achilles tendon back in 2022.
