NFL mock drafts are fascinating to read over the course of the offseason. The data that we get from those mock drafts helps identify who could end up going where.

The Minnesota Vikings have s ome clearly defined needs on their roster.

  • Cornerback
  • Safety
  • Defensive Tackle
  • Running Back
  • Interior Offensive Line

How they end up prioritizing these players is going to be interesting. A to Z Sports' Ryan Roberts did a seven-round mock draft and helped the Vikings fortify those needs.

24. Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

Scouting Report

The secondary is set to have several defections for the Vikings, so adding a player who can play a couple different roles would be huge. Barron isn’t the biggest defensive back but he’s tenacious, incredibly intelligent, and versatile.

Barron is an interesting prospect and Roberts hits the nail on the head. He's a versatile player who can play inside, outside, and as a deep safety. If you want strictly an outside cornerback, Barron likely isn't your guy. However, the versatility could be a huge asset for the Vikings.

97. Damien Martinez, RB, Miami

Martinez is quite an interesting player. He was listed at 232 lbs but had plenty of speed to thrive in a zone scheme. This is a very deep running back class for the Vikings to tap into and, if Martinez runs fast enough, he could be a really good asset to the running game.

140. CJ West, DT, Indiana

West is a very intriguing nose tackle. The Kent State transfer is a 317 lb monster in the middle who has a track record of being able to get some pressure on the quarterback. He has 10.0 sacks in his career but how well he handles blockers is a major positive, as you have to be able to stop the run with the Vikings.

161. Jaylen Reed, S, Penn State

The Vikings need to find some depth at safety and Reed is an intriguing player. We know that Penn State has been a factory for elite-level athletes and Reed profiles to be a good one. He has really good instincts and is a versatile player who could be a talented player in the Vikings' secondary.
