Myles Bryant Exits New England to Sign With Houston
Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

The New England Patriots suffered several injuries to their defensive backfield in 2023. Myles Bryant helped take up that slack, playing in a career-high 75% of defensive snaps last season. According to reports, Bryant is departing New England. He agreed to a contract in free agency with the Houston Texans.

Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston was the first to report the news. It has since been confirmed by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler to be a one-year deal.

Bryant is a four-year NFL veteran. He signed with New England as an undrafted free agent out of Washington in 2020. He played his entire NFL career with the Patriots to date. He has been a dependable player, appearing in all 34 games over the past two seasons. Bryant played in 56 games for New England, including one in the playoffs.

Myles Bryant enjoyed the best season of his career in 2023. He set personal bests in tackles (77), solo tackles (65), passes defended (seven), and tackles for loss (seven). His departure leaves the New England Patriots with Christian Gonzalez , Jonathan Jones, Shaun Wade, Marco Wilson, Marcus Jones, Alex Austin, and Isaiah Bolden remaining in the cornerbacks room.
