The Buffalo Bills came so close but again fell just short of winning the AFC and punching their ticket to the Super Bowl.
They must now move their focus to the offseason and determine what changes need to be made to elevate their roster and give them the best chance to play in the big game this time next year. A new A to Z Sports mock draft has the Bills landing the best player in the class at one of their biggest positions of need.
I’ve gathered the intel, reviewed all of the all star tape, and have a solidified big board entering the combine.

"The Bills made do with a mediocre safety pairing in Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin in 2024, but a talent upgrade is certainly possible. I do wonder why Cole Bishop struggled so much and whether he's still in the team's plans. If the Bills aren't sold, then going with a much more instinctive and athletic option in Malaki Starks can be the face of a key position on this defense. Starks plays a lot like former Bills star Micah Hyde."
- New A to Z Sports Mock Draft
Georgia's Malaki Starks was considered a potential top-ten pick after the 2023 season. However, 2024 had some rocky moments for the Georgia Bulldogs and Starks individually, which has many wondering what his draft range could be. Personally, I still think he should end up being a top-20 pick, but if he is there when the Bills get on the clock, this seems like a no-brainer.
Their uo of Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin had some solid moments, but overall, they just weren't good enough. Starks has the ability to play either safety spot and, therefore, can compete with both players. This should help the Bills figure out who the best two starting safeties are on their roster and put them out there for Week one. If the Bills were able to land Starks, my best guess is that he and Rapp would be the starting safeties in 2025, with Hamlin moving into more of a rotational role.
