‘GLENDALE – After being name the new radio color analyst for the Arizona Cardinals next season, A.Q. Shipley appeared on the Pat McAfee to praise the team next season. The 39-year-old stated he’s excited to call games for the franchise next season and believes next year’s squad is going to be elite. Shipley proclaimed that Arizona has a top 10 offensive unit heading into 2025, which McAfee scoffed at, but is his statement true?

Shipley on believing in Cardinals offense next season:

Last season, the Cardinals were 12th in scoring offense and 11th total yards. The motor of the offense was the seventh-ranked running game, which averaged 144.2 rushing yards per game and had second best yards per carry at 5.3. The only below average aspect of the unit was the passing game, as quarterback Kyler Murray only averaged 214.1 passing yards per game.

However, Murray’s legs make up for his lack of passing yards. The 27-year-old had the fourth-most rushing yards for a quarterback at 572, his most since the 2020 season. After tearing his ACL in 2022, Murray has fully recovered and returned to the Pro Bowl caliber player he was early in his career.

To make that next step of being a top 10 offense is on the shoulders of Marvin Harrison Jr.’s development. The rookie sensation had 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns. A good rookie season any other year, but compared to his rookie class, many viewed Harrison’s debut year as a disappointment.

The outside noise has drove Harrison to the weight room, with his offseason photos going viral for the amount of muscle he has gain. The added weight will help him get off the line quicker when cornerbacks try to press him or stunt him at the point of attack. This is the first full offseason with the team, and the former Ohio State Buckeye has taken advantage of it with his body transformation.

The improvement of the Murray-Harrison connection, while the rise of tight end Trey McBride continues, the passing game for the offense can help propel the offense into the top 10 in the NFL quite easily.
