Some new information has emerged regarding Drake Maye’s shoulder injury.
Maye suffered a shoulder injury during the New England Patriots’ win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. The Patriots were downplaying the injury ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl. But Maye told the media after his Patriots’ 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl that he received a painkilling injection prior to the game.

Despite receiving the injection, Maye said he did not feel the injury limited him.
“My shoulder feels … they shot it up, so not much feeling. It was good to go, and felt alright,” Maye said.
Rather, he said after the game that he just did not play well enough.
“Really, it just comes down to who makes the plays and who doesn’t,” Maye said after the game.
Maye went 27/43 for 295 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He also lost a fumble. Though the 295 yards and 2 touchdowns look good, Maye’s three turnovers prevented his Patriots from having a shot at winning. Seattle’s defense getting the turnovers was the difference in the game.
