San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is dealing with a toe injury that could sideline him for multiple games.

Purdy suffered toe and shoulder injuries during San Francisco’s 17-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash. He went 26/35 for 277 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and finished the game.

Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan has said Purdy is a “long shot” to play in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

On Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Purdy has turf toe and will be sidelined for 2-5 weeks. Rapoport said Purdy’s foot is “swollen” and “irritated.”

Mac Jones is in line to start for the 49ers as long as Purdy is out. The former New England Patriots first-round pick appeared in 10 games with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season and completed 65.3% of his passes for 1,672 yards, 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.

George Kittle also suffered an injury (hamstring) in Sunday’s win over the Seahawks and has been placed on injured reserve, which means the tight end will miss at least four games. Star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is still working his way back from a knee injury, so the Niners could be extremely shorthanded on offense over the next several weeks.
