With a touchdown reception in the third quarter on Sunday at home against the Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints Running Back Alvin Kamara made history. He became the fourth player in NFL history to have 50+ rushing touchdowns and 25+ receiving touchdowns over their career. Kamara joined a list that includes Marshall Faulk, Lenny Moore, and Christian McCaffrey.

Kamara’s historic afternoon did not lead to a successful day on the field for the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans went for two as time expired, but were unsuccessful. The star running back was also forced to leave the game with a groin injury in the fourth quarter he was unable to return from. Kamara finished today’s game with 70 total yards and 1 touchdown.  Will Kamara be able to recover for next Sunday’s game as New Orleans looks to get a victory?

New Orleans Saints Season Summary

Today’s loss dropped the Saints record to 5-9. The team has struggled since going 2-0 to start the regular season. They dropped seven straight games and fired Head Coach Dennis Allen amid their woes. The New Orleans Saints had been playing better as of late going 3-2 under the stewardship of Interim Head Coach Darren Rizzi. They now have a 1% chance to qualify for the NFL Playoffs.

Final Thoughts

Kamara’s status for next week’s game is unknown as New Orleans heads on the road to face the Green Bay Packers. Kamara has been one of the league’s most versatile players since he entered the NFL in 2017 out of Tennessee and now he joins a list featuring three of the best players in league history.
