Bears

Bears backup quarterbacks Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum spoke about Bagent’s performance, but after QB Caleb Williams returned to the starting lineup and had a great game, both will return to the bench for now.

“Obviously super disappointed, but really can’t look any further than the mirror,” Bagent said, via The Athletic. “Got to get better. Got to take it face on, see where I need to get better, see where we need to get better as a team.”

“You would definitely not want to be benched, especially with the opportunity that I’ve been blessed with, but I’ve got to play better,” Bagent added. “I’ve got to look in the mirror, see where I can continue to get better, because there’s a lot of things still, even this far into my career, that I can certainly get better at.”

“Yeah, I’ll keep that between us. Just encouraged him, loved on him,” Keenum said of Bagent. “I told him I’ve had my ass kicked plenty of times, and nobody I’d rather have it kicked with than him.”

“You don’t last very long in this league if you don’t know how to get back up when you’ve had your ass kicked,” Keenum added. “That’s just the way it is. There’s really good players, really good coaches, really good teams, and if you last long enough, it’s just a matter of time that you’re going to get your ass kicked. It’s not about that. It’s about how you respond. I expect him to respond like he knows how to. It’s adversity to learn from. It’s an opportunity to learn from your mistakes and move on and not make them again.”

Packers

Packers wide receivers Christian Watson and Matthew Golden could be the NFL’s top duo right now, with both competing for more yards on Sunday.

“It’s hard to stop two guys who can run all the routes and stretch the field like that,” Watson said, via The Athletic. “If you try to, it’s going to give us other opportunities elsewhere.”

“He had a couple more yards than me today,” Golden said, joking about Watson. “I’m really mad about it. I feel like with me and Christian, we can get really anywhere, underneath, over the top. It’s a lot of things we can do with speed. It’s hard to really cover it. Me and Christian got a lot of confidence in each other, man. We push each other each and every day. We in competition. That’s how we treat it. He came out there and did exactly what I knew he was gonna do, and I know he would say the same about me. So I appreciate him, man, because he pushes me each and every day, and I’m just grateful to be in a room with a guy like that.”

Vikings

Vikings QB Kyler Murray talked about getting more comfortable in the team’s offense, and his improvised flip to WR Justin Jefferson that showed the two were on the same page.

“I was just messing around,” Murray said, via The Athletic. “I’m excited about where we’re going.”

“I didn’t necessarily see that two-by-two box in the back corner of the end zone that Kyler put that ball into,” HC Kevin O’Connell said of the team. “But I will say this. His trust is something. And it is Justin Jefferson…I am very proud of what the team has accomplished. There is no excuse (for the injuries). There’s a next-man-up (mentality).”
