Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs have started the 2025 NFL season at 0-2 after their Week 2 loss to Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelce has been a shell of himself to start his 13th season, tallying just six catches for 108 yards and a score. He also helped cause Xavier Worthy's injury in Week 1, running into the wide receiver.
Against the Eagles, Kelce tallied four catches for 61 yards. His best moment came with 4:16 remaining in the third quarter, when Patrick Mahomes hit Kelce for a 23-yard gain over Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean, his longest of the day.
Mahomes went on to throw an interception later in the drive after a pass bounced off Kelce's hands and into the arms of Andrew Makuba.
While no flags were called on Kelce's 23-yard gain, the NFL announced on Saturday that Kelce was fined $14,491 for an "unsportsmanlike conduct" during the play, describing it as an "obscene gesture."
This is not the first time Kelce has been fined for unsportsmanlike conduct. In last season's AFC Championship against the Buffalo Bills, he was fined $11,255 for taunting. Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was also hit with a $46,371 fine for an illegal "use of the helmet" against Kansas City.
"The NFL fined #Chiefs TE Travis Kelce $14,491 for unsportsmanlike conduct/obscene gestures last week," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero wrote on X. "The gesture was … well, you can figure it out."
