Key Points:
Sam Williams and the Dallas Cowboys couldn't finish the job in Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season, ending their "Sunday Night Football" matchup with a 40-40 tie against Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers. Williams, who was absent for all of the 2024 season with a torn ACL and MCL, was only able to muster one tackle against Green Bay.
With 10:38 remaining in the third quarter of Cowboys vs. Packers, Williams brought down quarterback Jordan Love for a loss of 12 and his first sack of the season. However, the former Ole Miss defensive end was called for a facemask, giving Green Bay 15 yards and taking away his sack.
On Saturday, the NFL revealed that Williams has been fined $11,002 for his "unnecessary roughness/facemask" on Love.
Williams wasn't the only NFL player fined for a facemask in Week 4. In fact, Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey and New England Patriots tight end Austin Hooper were both hit with $11,593 charges, $591 more than Williams.
"No Packers were fined in Week 4," wrote Packers reporter Easton Butler on X. "Dallas' Sam Williams was fined $11,002 for a facemask though."

Dallas' Sam Williams was fined $11,002 for a facemask though.
This isn’t the first time Williams has faced discipline from the NFL. Last season, he was suspended for three games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. Williams served the suspension last season even though he was on injured reserve, and he was docked three game checks totaling $211,087.
Williams will be a key piece for the Dallas defense going forward, especially with Parsons now in Green Bay. In his first two seasons, Williams totaled 8.5 sacks and showed glimpses of greatness. Up next for the Cowboys, a Week 5 battle with the New York Jets on Sunday.
