NFL denies appeal of $100k fine for Eagles security chief

The saga involving Philadelphia Eagles security chief Dom DiSandro may finally be over.

On Friday, the NFL denied DiSandro's appeal of a $100,000 fine levied against him following a Week 13 sideline confrontation with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

DiSandro was also suspended from his on-field duties until the end of the regular season, though he can return for the playoffs. Greenlaw didn't receive a suspension. However, the league fined him $10,927 for an unnecessary roughness penalty on Eagles wideout DeVonta Smith, which led him to swipe at DiSandro before chaos ensued.

The sideline scuffle prompted the NFL to send a memo reminding all teams of the zero-tolerance policy against club personnel engaging with players from opposing sides. Violators will face fines and/or suspensions without pay.

For the record, the man known as "Big Dom" and Greenlaw patched things up following the incident. DiSandro called the 49ers' linebacker a "genuine guy," adding that he regretted how far things escalated.

Mended feelings weren't going to help DiSandro's wallet, but the Eagles reportedly swooped in to help by paying his hefty fine, according to Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press.

DiSandro hasn't been on the field in a few weeks, but that doesn't mean the Eagles have been immune to sideline dustups.

During their 20-17 Week 15 loss on "Monday Night Football," WR A.J. Brown got in the face of Seattle Seahawks practice squad offensive lineman Joey Hunt, initially identified as a member of the team's staff.

After making a catch near the sidelines, Brown shoved Seahawks cornerback Michael Jackson before bumping into Hunt, leading to a few pushes and exchanging words. The league fined Hunt $1,610 for unsportsmanlike conduct.
