NFL Fines Steelers Defender for Fifth Time
USA TODAY Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee was hit with his fifth fine of the season by the NFL after receiving a bill for an unnecessary roughness penalty in Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The league fined Kazee $11,806 for a play that occurred at the 2:32 mark of the first quarter against the Bengals. It was a hit on Cincinnati's tight end, Irv Smith Jr., where Kazee is believed to have lowered his helmet. The play was not flagged in the game.

Kazee was one of nine players fined across the league in Week 12, and moves the Steelers' total up for the season. This year, the safety has been fined $59,030 dollars, all five of which have been $11,806.

This season, the Steelers have been fined nearly $400,000, with the most coming from running back Jaylen Warren, who's collected over $97,000 in fines. Kazee has collected the third-most fines on the team, following inside linebacker Kwon Alexander, who was fined $87,418.

All fines are set by the CBA and go toward a charity of the NFL's choosing.
