NFL futures: A look at the Offensive Player of the Year market

Three weeks into the 2023 season, players are beginning to showcase their roles and pile up statistics, offering us a nice opportunity to take stock of the strongest efforts and futures bets to consider for some of the individual awards offered.

Offensive Player of the Year market: Odds and players to monitor

The favorite(s): Tyreek Hill & Christian McCaffrey (+450 FanDuel)

We've got a tie at the top of the board between Miami's Tyreek Hill and San Francisco's Christian McCaffrey.

The Dolphins are the belles of the ball in the futures market at the moment, fresh off their 70-point drubbing over Denver. Hill is currently second in the NFL with 412 yards and he leads all pass-catchers with four touchdowns. The one downside to backing Hill is the presence of Jaylen Waddle, who might siphon off some of the production in this offense throughout the year.

Christian McCaffrey is being worked extensively in San Francisco, and if he stays healthy, this elite workload seems set to follow him for the full season. He's leading the NFL with 353 rushing yards, averaging 5.9 yards per carry and scoring three touchdowns. Through the air, McCaffrey has chipped in 70 yards on 11 receptions.

The name to keep an eye on: Keenan Allen (+4000 FD)

Keenan Allen is a fresh off an absurd 18-catch game that saw him finish with 215 yards. This is just one game after Allen caught eight balls for 111 yards.

Thanks to the two big games, Allen is third in the league in receiving yards at 402, catching two touchdowns. With Mike Williams tearing his ACL, the onus of WR production falls heavier on Allen's shoulders in this offense.

If Los Angeles is to claw out of its 1-2 hole and make the playoffs, it's off the back of Justin Herbert and this passing attack. At +4000, Allen could be worth a sprinkle in this market.
