Curt Menefee will cut back on his busy media schedule next year.
The "Fox NFL Sunday" host revealed Tuesday that he's stepping down as host of "Good Day New York." Menefee will continue to cover the NFL, UFL, and Belmont Stakes for Fox.
"January will be two years since I've been doing Good Day New York, but I'm not coming back in 2026," Menefee said on Tuesday's show.
Menefee cited the challenges of traveling from California to New York after Sunday's NFL responsibilities in time for Monday morning. He thanked the GDNY staff and co-host Rosanna Scotto for making his two years on the weekday news show memorable.
"It's one of those things that has been a great time," he said. "You have been welcoming, the staff has been wonderful. It's just the back and forth."
Menefee said he only sees his wife, who lives full-time in California, for around 20 hours a week.
"That's the life I've chosen, so I'm not complaining," Menefee said. "I'm just saying, at some point, you have to make an adjustment."
The 60-year-old will host "Good Day New York" for the last time on Friday, Dec. 19.
Menefee joined Fox Sports in 1997 as a sideline reporter. Ten years later, he replaced James Brown as the host of "Fox NFL Sunday."
The Atlanta-born sportscaster has remained a staple on the network's NFL studio show, where he currently leads a crew also featuring Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Rob Gronkowski, and "Good Morning America" host Michael Strahan.
Menefee has also called UFL games as a play-by-play announcer and spearheaded the network's Belmont coverage over the last three years. He'll maintain all those roles after leaving the GDNY desk.
Fox has yet to name a replacement host for Menefee.
