In the early days of the Houston Texans, when the team was struggling to get its feet under them, wide receiver Andre Johnson was often the lone bright spot on the team. He's not only the best receiver in team history, he ranks among the best of the 2000s.

But now Johnson is facing a pretty serious loss.

Taking to Instagram a few weeks ago, rapper Lil Keke revealed that Johnson was recently the victim of a home burglary in the city of Houston. Among the items stolen from him was the ring he received on induction to the Houston Texans Ring of Honor.

“Andre Johnson is my brother,” rapper and Houston native Lil Keke said on Instagram. “He’s the first Houston Texan Hall of Famer. He dedicated his life here, his career here, and also he resides here as a Houstonian — that makes it much, much more important. Man, we family and this is a family message. Over the weekend somebody broke into my brother’s home, took some items that represent his legacy, represent his dedication, his hard work, his family. We need to recover that and get that back.”

Ironically, the thieves probably won't be able to sell the ring anyway. The ring probably has his name engraved on it. Now that it's been identified as stolen, no reputable dealer would dare buy it off the thieves.

Houston fans are pledging to help

Fans on Instagram have offered their own resources in helping the Texans legend recover his stolen ring:

"Would love to offer my services of security systems and cameras and access control thats not right when I grew up watching AJ play growing up," one user replied on Instagram.

"He gone get it back, the H got him," another declared.

"In one moment, took what the man put 20,000 plus hours of one percent, hard work into. People can be heartless."

"Definitely some outta town work the city got too much respect for the GOAT to do that man. I hope he gets his belongings back."

Andre Johnson was a superstar in Houston

From 2003 to 2014 in Houston, Johnson consistently ranked among the best receivers in the league. He has six seasons where he was top-10 in receptions and five where he was top-10 in receiving yards.

Johnson was a seven-time Pro Bowler, a four-time All-Pro, a two-time leader in receptions and receiving yards and had three seasons of 1,500-plus receiving yards.

We hope Johnson is able to get his property back.
