Tom Brady had a legendary NFL career that spanned 23 years. He spent two decades with the New England Patriots before closing out his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The future Hall of Fame quarterback won seven Super Bowl championships along the way, among other things.

Since his retirement, Brady has entered broadcasting. In 2022, he signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports to be the network’s top NFL analyst. The 48-year-old has since been an integral part of Fox Sports’ NFL coverage. On Tuesday, the network announced some big news involving Brady and the rest of Fox Sports’ NFL broadcast team.

Fox Sports covered two games in the recently concluded wild card round. On Saturday, they provided the broadcast for the matchup between the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams won that game, 34-31, setting up a matchup against the Chicago Bears in the divisional round.

Brady and Co. were assigned for the NFC wild card showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Brady was in the booth alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi provided sideline reports from Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles and the Niners produced quite a spectacle. In the end, however, the 49ers escaped with a 23-19 win to take down the defending champs.

On Tuesday, Fox Sports announced that its coverage of the Eagles-49ers game produced some historic numbers.

According to the post, 41 million viewers tuned in for the wildcard matchup, representing a 14% increase from last year’s viewership. It was the most-watched game of the wildcard round on any network. It also emerged as the most-watched wildcard game on any network since 2022.

Brady took to social media to share his reaction to the news.

“I had a coach who’d say ‘We could do better’ ” he wrote, tagging his Fox Sports team.

Brady had three coaches during his 23 years in the NFL. He had Bruce Arians and Todd Bowles with the Buccaneers. The 15-time Pro Bowler, however, spent most of his career under Bill Belichick in New England.

Brady and Co. will get an opportunity to do better in the next round of the playoffs. Fox Sports’ A-team will be heading to Seattle on Saturday for the divisional round matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the 49ers. Kickoff from Lumen Field is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.
