Nothing like football, coffee and eggs to start our Sunday this week. The Vikings and Saints will get our Week 4 Sunday started with a 9:30 a.m ET kickoff, and luckily for us, there's an angle that looks solid for a long reception prop.
If you haven't heard, Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas are both out this week in New Orleans. I'm not that concerned about the Winston absence here, as Andy Dalton slides in as QB1, a very capable spot starter.
The Saints pass-protection has been solid this season, and this offensive philosophy has clearly been to throw it deep, given that Winston is tied for the second-most 20+ yard passes this season.
Rookie receiver Chris Olave has been rolling, going for 227 yards in the past two weeks on 26 targets. I'd expect Dalton to continue looking Olave's way, especially considering the explosiveness he's displayed. Olave has a long reception of 51 yards and 49 in the past two games, racking up four 20+ yard catches on the young season.
His aDOT of 19.3 is first among starters on this team, and he's sporting a very impressive 15.8 yards per catch average.
The Vikings were a great secondary to target last season and have remained a target in 2022. Minnesota has allowed 12 passes of 20+ yards this season, tied for fourth-most, and they also rank inside the top-ten of opponent's yards per pass attempt and DADOT.
Last week, three Lions receivers recorded a catch of 23+ yards (four total). The week prior, two Eagles receivers hauled in a catch over this 21.5 mark. Week 1 saw two rookie receivers in Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson both record a catch of 23+.
Even with some added attention likely on Olave sans Michael Thomas, it hasn't been an issue for any other receiver up to this point. There isn't a menacing presence on this Vikings secondary, and Olave is rolling as a vertical threat for New Orleans.
Let's start Sunday right with this London prop cashing.
