NFL long play props for Week 8

With seven weeks under our belts, the data we have is starting to carry more weight and reliability. This week, we have some defenses to target, and we'll load up the best options we see for a long catch on Sunday.

All of these targets could be considered solid options to hit their yardage totals, so utilize these angles however you see most appropriate.

DJ Moore over 20.5 longest reception (-114 FD)

Atlanta is a must-target defense for long receptions, punctuated last week by allowing Bengals wide outs to pile up eight catches of 20+ yards. The Falcons are now tied with Pittsburgh for most 20+ yard passes allowed.

Truly the only choice to look on Sunday in Carolina is with DJ Moore. Moore is the top receiver for the Panthers, and it's nice to see that PJ Walker has been pushing the ball down the field in his starts this season.

Moore has five 20+ yard catches this season and his aDOT is a respectable 10.3. He's grabbed a long catch longer than 20.5 in four of seven and he's covered this number in each of his last four games against Atlanta.

Chris Olave over 23.5 longest reception (-115 MGM)

Las Vegas is a solid choice to bet against, their 24 passes of 20+ yards allowed is seventh-most, and that's even with a bye week already.

With Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry out again, Chris Olave is set up nicely for a big game.

He sports an incredibly-high 17.4 aDOT, and he's recorded a catch of 24+ yards in four of his last five games.

AJ Brown over 25.5 longest reception (-110 DK)

As mentioned above, the Steelers are tied for the most 20+ yard passes allowed, at 30 total. Wide receivers have torched Pittsburgh, accounting for 27 of those explosive plays, the most to the position in the NFL. The Steelers also rank inside the top-ten of opponent's yards per pass and DADOT. The entire Eagles passing game is in a great spot to produce this weekend.

There's a few solid choices on Philadelphia to take advantage, but we'll opt for AJ Brown over DeVonta Smith.

Brown's aDOT tops Smith, and he's been targeted 20+ yards down the field five times. Brown is over his 25.5 number in three of six, while Smith is over his 22.5 line just once. Both are good bets, but we'll go with Brown, who has yet to see less than seven targets in a game.

Darius Slayton over 17.5 longest reception (-110 DK)

Seattle has been one of the best defenses to target this season for big plays, allowing the third-most. They too also sweep the board of target metrics, with the Seahawks defense ranking inside the top-ten for yards/attempt and DADOT.

We're rolling with Darius Slayton to break off a reasonable gain Sunday. He tops the team in aDOT at 14.6, and he's gone over this 17.5 line in three straight games.

He's seen 16 targets over the past three weeks from Daniel Jones and should remain a factor against a susceptible secondary.

.5u: Rondale Moore over 17.5 longest reception (-115 CZR)

The Arizona-Minnesota game looks good for long plays on both ends, but we're moving both targets down to .5u wagers for reasons we'll dig into now.

Rondale Moore has a catch of 26+ yards in three straight weeks, including a 31-yarder last week. The potential cause for concern is that he saw just two targets last week with DeAndre Hopkins back in the fold.

Still, he had a 77-yard catch against Minnesota last season, and the Vikings are tied for the sixth-most explosive plays allowed (even with a bye), and rank inside the top-ten of opponent's yards per pass attempt and DADOT.

With more attention on Hopkins, the hope is that Moore can showcase his explosive playmaking.

.5u: Justin Jefferson over 26.5 longest reception (-120 DK)

Justin Jefferson is always a good choice to consider for a long play. He has a catch of 30+ yards in four of six games this season, and truly the biggest reason we're downgrading this bet is simply because of the 26.5 to 27.5 line we're seeing on sportsbooks.

Arizona showed some serious leaks last week, allowing three catches of 40+ yards to wide receivers against the Saints. If those issues continue, it's a fair bet that Jefferson is the one to have a big play.

Enjoy your bets on Sunday!
