The beginning of the NFL season has prompted some unfortunate developments for several teams across the league.
The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season in Week 1, falling to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kansas City lost to the Chargers 27-21 after entering the season with a chip on their shoulder, following a Super Bowl loss.
As the Chiefs prepare to get back in rhythm, set to play the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2, their earliest opponent suffered a brutal blow.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman has suffered a high-ankle sprain and is considered week-to-week.
"#Chargers veteran LB Denzel Perryman, who was knocked out of the win in Brazil over the #Chiefs, was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain," Rapoport said. " Perryman is considered week-to-week and he will miss some time. Generally, high-ankle sprains can take 4-6 weeks to heal."

Last season with the Chargers, Perryman posted one sack and 55 tackles.
After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 of the NFL season, the Los Angeles Chargers are set to play the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2 on "Monday Night Football."
The Chargers are 3.5-point favorites to defeat the Raiders, per ESPN BET.
