The Dallas Cowboys had an ugly game on Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers, losing by a final score of 23-13 and dropping to 2-4 on the season. Not only did the defense struggle to contain quarterback Jordan Love and Green Bay’s passing attack, but the Cowboys’ offense could not get anything going either.
Quarterback Dak Prescott had his worst game of the season. The 33-year-old veteran completed 34 passes out of 54 attempts for 258 yards and a touchdown but also threw two interceptions.
He nearly turned the ball over three times, though one play was called back due to a roughing the passer penalty.
Prescott drew three roughing the passer penalties from the Packers, which was more a result of how consistently Green Bay was putting pressure on him throughout the night. One of those penalties was much more severe than the others.
With 6:28 left in the fourth quarter, Prescott was hit hard by Packers defensive tackle Karl Brooks, resulting in a flag for roughing the passer and a 15-yard penalty.
The replays showed Brooks driving Prescott with full force into the ground well after the throw. Hits like these are exactly what the NFL is trying to prevent, and this play in particular will be reviewed to determine whether Brooks will be fined.

Per the NFL fines and appeals schedule, a first-time infraction for roughing the passer could cost Brooks $17,911, while a second offense bumps the price up to $23,882.
The league typically takes just under a week to announce a final decision. Given how hard Prescott was driven into the ground, this is one to watch closely.
